In My Solitude

In my solitude

I stretch and grow

Reaching into the depths of my soul

An excavation of my spirit

Ripping out all that no longer serves me

Making room for what I am yet to know

It is hideous and utterly beautiful all at once

Peeling back the layers of who I am

Revealing the raw parts of myself

Exposed and vulnerable

I embrace her and give her grace

Taking her hand as we walk this world together

She stares back at me in the mirror

A reflection of who I used to be

I honor the girl I was yesterday

And welcome the woman I have yet to become

A grand metamorphosis taking place

I stand and bear witness to this magic

Only in my solitude
